I wanted to share some info and tips about what we have been working on....

 

Honeybee facts that you might not know:

• Bees are responsible for every third bite of food we eat. WE NEED BEES, and bees need us to.

  • Helpful tip: Plant flowers that help all pollinators. 

• A Honeybee fact: A bee flying around you will most like not sting you if you just say calm and when she sees you're not a flower, she will most likely go on her way.

  • Helpful tip: Bees know they will die if they sting so this is their last resort. 

• Honeybees fly 1 to 3 mils in their hunt for the nectar! 

• Bees can make their wings move in upwards to 11,000 times a minute, and 60,000 times per the day. 

• In one day, she can see around 3,000 flowers! That is how they are able to eat up to 22 microliters of honey per day. Think that was cool? 1 ounce of Honey can give one bee the energy to fly around the world. 

• A bee a can fly up to six miles an hour and can cover up to 15 miles a day.
