Sadie Acres at Maple Valley Market Days, August 2026

If you've been looking for a reason to head out to Maple Valley this summer, we'd love to give you one. We're Kim and Nathan Straine, the homesteaders behind Sadie Acres, and we'll be set up at the Maple Valley Saturday Market on August 15 with a full table of everything we've been making and curating on our little piece of land.

Come say hello. We'd love to meet you.

What Is Sadie Acres?

Sadie Acres started in 2023, named after our German Shepherd Lab mix, Sadie. We started it as a way to bring the things we love making and collecting directly to people who appreciate them. We moved to Washington in 2015 and fell in love with this land. After we bought our property in 2018, everything followed: bees, plants, soap-making, crochet, lapidary, and an ever-growing crystal collection.

We're a two-person homestead operation, and everything we bring to market is something we made, cut, polished, or hand-selected ourselves. No middlemen, no mass production.

What We're Bringing to the Maple Valley Saturday Market

Handmade Crystal Jewelry and Lapidary Pieces

Nathan cuts and polishes gemstones right on our property. Every lapidary pendant and bracelet starts as raw material and gets shaped, tumbled, and finished in-house. These aren't bought from a supplier. They're cut by hand in Maple Valley.

You'll find pendants in pink calcite, Washington jade, sodalite, and tiger eye, plus bracelets in flower agate, howlite, jasper, and more. Each piece is one of a kind.

Hand-Selected Crystal Towers and Spheres

Our crystal towers and spheres are expert-curated. Nathan and Kim personally hand-select every specimen from trusted sources. We look for quality, color, and energy. If it's on our table, it passed our own inspection first.

You'll find towers and spheres in obsidian, calcite, fluorite, amethyst, sodalite, tiger eye, and more.

Hand-Selected Crystal Specimens

For collectors, we bring raw and natural crystal specimens that Nathan and Kim have carefully curated over time. These are the kinds of pieces that look good on a shelf, feel good in your hand, and mean something to the people who love them.

Artisan Soaps and Bath Items

Kim makes our soaps using essential oils distilled from plants we grow ourselves. Small-batch, natural, and formulated with care. Lavender mint, honey grass, spice blend, and glycerin bars for any preference. We also carry bath salts, loofahs, and more.

Starting at $5.99, they make great gifts.

Handmade Crochet Pieces

Kim crochets blankets, scarves, cowls, and bags by hand. These are one-of-a-kind pieces made with intention. If you're the kind of person who appreciates the hours that go into a handmade textile, you'll love what she brings to the table.

A Little More About Us

We built Sadie Acres because we wanted to share what living on this land feels like. Every product is a labor of love. Whether Kim spent weeks crocheting it, Nathan spent hours at the lapidary wheel cutting it, or we both spent a season tending the bees and plants that went into it, everything here started on our homestead.

If you're local to Maple Valley, the Saturday Market is the best way to see everything in person. We'd love to meet our neighbors face-to-face.

See you on August 15.
